This pillow case was made for a little lady named Tuesday who loves to touch (and taste!) everything she can get her hands on. To make the pillowcase extra safe and great for baby to explore please make sure all the elements are securely attached. To do this start with the main piece of fabric over which the ribbons will lay. Lay out the ribbons in a pleasing design, allowing for some over hang. Stitch a straight stitch down each edge, attaching each side of the ribbons as you go. If at this point you would like to add another stitch a 1/4 inch in for extra security you may do so. The ribbons will be sewn through one more time when you sew the other pieces of fabric to the one with the ribbons to make up the front. For more fun touches add an embroidered initial (in this example a letter T was enlarged, printed, traced and embroidered around), pieces of doily, or even tabs of ribbon around the edge. This pillow is edged with one of our silk pipings, very easy to work with and very soft. The final touch is a piece of twill stamped with the give and recipients birth dates. A fun coded way to sign your name to a sewn project.
